Aquaculture Production
Aquatic organisms are cultivated in various “systems” tailored to each species’ unique environmental and physiological needs, as well as the farmer’s location, resources, and goals. An aquaculture product will pass through multiple systems during its production cycle.
Although methods can vary widely between farms and species, nearly all aquatic organisms undergo basic phases before reaching consumers, whether locally or internationally.
